On January 16, 2023, the Fund’s vehicles left for a meeting with the residents of the Preobrazhenka village, Polohy district, Zaporizhzhia region. The village is located in close proximity to the front-line and is constantly under fire from the Russian military with heavy artillery and “Grad” MLRS. Despite the constant danger, some of the villagers do not leave their homes. Disabled people, retiree, large families, single parents, and pregnant women are especially vulnerable to these extremely difficult conditions. First of all, we try to help these people. The path to the meeting place is painful: we see the eerie traces of destruction, and for a moment, despair settles in our hearts. However, this is only for a moment, it is worth seeing the eyes of the people who are waiting for us in such front-line settlements. There is so much resilience and hope in them that it helps us “hold our ground” and move on so that today’s tragic “investments” are not in vain. Today, a batch of food kits as part of access to the humanitarian program from ACTED was provided to citizens of Preobrazhenka, as well as butter and bread from the Fund.
