Imagine a family that wakes up from the sound of explosions. The fragments fly around, and the cold wind pierces the house in a few seconds. Once a cozy house becomes a fight – a fight for warmth, for comfort, for a sense of security. It is with such realities that hundreds of families near the front line of Zaporizhzhia region face every day. People who have lost not only peace but also basic living conditions. Broken windows and broken doors leave them without protection from cold, wind, rain. It is especially difficult for those who, because of age or health, cannot cope with this problem on their own. With the support of @ACTEDUKRAINE and the financing of the European Union, the implementation of the initiative within the project “providing proper living conditions for families living in Zaporizhzhia region, by carrying out easy and medium repairs and insulation of damage” has begun. This initiative is part of the Immediate Cash Assistance to Conflict-Affected Communities in Frontline, Newly Accessible and Non-Government-Controlled Areas of Ukraine (2024-2025) The area of the project has already started installing new window blocks in damaged homes. We pay special attention to the most vulnerable – the elderly, people with disabilities, large families and single parents.
