“Integration Camp and Educational Support for Children from Frontline and Occupied Communities of Zaporizhia Oblast” is an initiative that has become a space of safety, support, and hope for many children.
The community of Polohivskyi district of Zaporizhia Oblast found itself in extremely difficult conditions due to the war. Among the main challenges are ensuring the safety of children, restoring a full-fledged educational process, and providing psychological support to those who were forced to leave their homes and adapt to new realities. The implementation of the initiative allowed for the creation of comprehensive support for children and their families — from the integration camp to equipping schools with modern multimedia equipment.
Head of the Polohivskyi City Military Administration of Polohivskyi district of Zaporizhia Oblast, Yuriy Anatoliyovych Konovalenko notes:
“The project has become an important support for children who were forced to leave their homes due to the war. The integration camp, catch-up classes, modern multimedia equipment for relocated schools, and backpacks for first-graders helped not only return to systematic learning, but also to experience the joy of communication again, find friends, and gradually restore emotional balance in new living conditions.” The initiative is implemented by the BO “CF “WORLD. UKRAINE. POLOHY”” within the framework of the “Strengthening War-Affected Communities of Ukraine through Local Initiatives” (EMPOWER) project, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) together with the European Union and implemented by GIZ Ukraine — for the sake of children, their peace today, and confidence in tomorrow.
