Maria is 75 years old, she lived her whole life in the village of Razumivka in Zaporizhia. Once her house was full of warmth – from the stove, from her family and from a quiet village life. The war took away this confidence: her son went abroad to work, her husband became seriously ill, and all the worries fell on the shoulders of the elderly woman.
Winter became a particularly difficult test for Maria. The old house with stove heating needed firewood, but she could no longer prepare or buy it herself.
Thanks to the support of the NGO “CF World.Ukraine.Pology” and Acted Ukraine, the firewood was delivered directly to her house.
“Now I know that we will not freeze. It is not just firewood – it is a feeling that we have not been forgotten,” Maria shares.
This help returned not only warmth to the house, but also hope and peace in her heart.
The initiative is implemented with the support of ACTED within the US Government-backed Response Consortium and continues to help the most vulnerable people get through difficult times.
